Pre-Arrival Information & Induction Activities

Induction

Welcome Pack

Prior to arrival on campus, you will receive a Welcome Pack containing registration and orientation materials which are essential to those undertaking a programme of study including:

  • Students guide to Glasgow Caledonian University
  • MBA programme handbook
  • Semester timetable
  • A guide to Blackboard
  • Finance and funding advice
  • An overview of student services and support

Pre-Session Induction Week

Directly before the first semester a 10-day induction programme will take place. It addresses issues such as the broad field of management learning, the history and status of the MBA, the demands of academic writing in the UK university sector. There is an early opportunity to become familiar with the university’s systems and importantly develop an understanding of the library information service.

Induction involves a series of orientation sessions that will enable you to familiarise yourself with your peers and the university. This time will allow you to resolve many domestic issues which arise such as opening bank accounts, resolving any accommodation issues, and becoming oriented in new surrounds, etc.
